Winnifred "Winni" Paul is a Haitian born, Connecticut raised professional. She has a B.A. in English from Fairfield University and an M.S.Ed. in Counselor Education from St. Bonaventure University. Previously she's worked in the non-profit, corporate and higher educations sectors. In addition to consulting, Winni currently works on a $2.3 million U.S. Department of Education grant for a community college.
Winni volunteers her time by serving on the leadership team of a few organizations. Winni serves on the Urban League of Southern Connecticut Young Professionals (ULSCYP) leadership team as Executive Vice President. ULSCYP is an auxiliary of the Urban League of Southern Connecticut and part of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) network. Winni serves as co-chair for NASPA Gender and Sexuality Knowledge Community. NASPA is the leading association for student affairs professionals working in higher education and beyond. She previously held leadership positions with the Rhode Island Young Professionals (RIYP) and was recipient of the 2012 RIYP Member of the Year award.
With over nine years experience working in higher education, Winni has contributed to the student engagement experience in residential life, student activities, orientation, and student leadership development at a variety of institutions (2-year community college, 4-year residential university). For three summers, Winni had the honor of serving as Site Director for talent identification programs such as Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) and Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) . Johns Hopkins CTY and Duke TIP are non-profit organizations that serve academically gifted pre-college students. Some of Winni's non-profit work was as an addictions/career counselor, in addition to working in group homes for those with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues.
Winni has presented her unique brand of workshops regionally and nationally (i.e. NEACUHO, NASPA Region I, NASPA annual conference, Creating Change Conference, etc). She has provided social media and event management services for a variety of local businesses and festivals. A selection of previous clients can be found here. When she's not involved in social justice or working, her other interests include foodie adventures, karaoke, pop culture, museums, reading, and improv comedy.
